Online Wildcard Qualifier Invitational: Determining the 8th Seed for the Grand Finale

The Belize Chess Federation (BCF) recently held the 2025 Online Wildcard Invitational, a special event to decide the final player to join the 2024/2025 National Championship cycle. The tournament will be held online and brought together top players from across the country who narrowly missed qualification through the regular events.

The Format

The Online Wildcard Qualifier Invitational is set to be an enthralling contest that will determine the most deserving player for the final spot in the Grand Finale. Here are the key format details:

1. Single Elimination: The tournament will follow a single-elimination format. Every game will be crucial.

2. Best of One Matches: Each match in the invitational will be decided in a single game match.

3. Tiebreaker Blitz Matches: In case a tie occurs , a 5-minute blitz game will be played.

4. Time Control: Time control will be 25+2

5. Convenient Match Scheduling: To accommodate the players' schedules and ensure their best performance, matches will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for both participants.
