Cayo Chess Festival 2025
On the 1st November 2025, during this year’s Cayo Day celebrations in San Ignacio, the Cayo Chess Festival brought together players and supporters for a day of friendly competition and regional connection. The event welcomed 45 participants from Belize and the Cayo district, along with a visiting group of 20 players from the Peten Chess Club in Guatemala!

Final Qualifier Decided by 3-way Tie-Breaks in Orange Walk
The fifth and final Qualifying Tournament for the 2024/2025 Belize National Chess Championship cycle was held on April 12th, 2025, at the Louisiana Government School in Orange Walk. The event marked a high-stakes conclusion to the qualification stage, as players battled fiercely for the last remaining spot in the Championship Challengers Tournament.

Belize Sends Two to Prestigious Subzonal Chess Tournament in Honduras
Nathaniel Reyes and Charlton Roches are set to represent Belize at the Subzonal 2.3.1 Absoluto 2025 tournament in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from April 14 to 19. This prestigious event, hosted at Hotel Honduras Maya, brings together top players from Central America and Mexico in a nine-round Swiss-system competition.
