Belize Championship Circuit
The Belize Championship Circuit will consist of all tournaments throughout Belize, which will serve as a qualification path for the Belize National Chess Championship. Players will receive points based on their performance and the strength of the tournament. A player's final Circuit score will be the sum of their seven best results of the year.
Circuit points obtained by a player from a tournament will be calculated as follows:

1.2 - Rapid tournaments
1.0 - National Blitz Championship
0.8 - Mixed Rapid & Blitz tournaments
0.8 - Freestyle Rapid
0.7 - Blitz tournaments
Basic points
Points will be awarded as follows:

2nd - 8
3rd - 7

5th - 5
6th - 4
If the tournament was won outright, basic points for 1st place would be 11 points. Otherwise, 10 basic points would be used for calculation.
For tied positions, points will be distributed based on computer tiebreaks unless a blitz tiebreak is held.
