Belize National Master Title
The BCF is introducing a National Master (NM) Title to recognize top players, inspire rising talents, and serve as a stepping stone to international FIDE titles.
To earn the National Master title, a player must achieve one of the following:

Belize Grand Swiss Winner

National Rating above 1800

FIDE Rating above 2000

NM Alfred A. Awe (SC)

Alfred Awe makes history by being Belize's first National Master. He earned the title by being the 2023 National Chess Champion as well as obtaining a rating of above 1800.

NM Michael Campos (OW)
26 October 2025
Michael Campos earned his title by winning the 2025 Challengers Tournament and qualifying for the 2026 National Chess Championship.

Cristobal Campos earned his title by winning the 2025 Belize Grand Swiss. He defeated National Champion Alfred Awe in the final round to win the tournament.
